I am a textile artist fascinated by the slow, meditative pace of hand embroidery. My process is intuitive: images emerge stitch by stitch, leaving space for spontaneous ideas, colour experiments, and the subtle surprises that only slow process can reveal. I often combine printed images and text with my embroideries, and I use old fabrics, such as handkerchiefs and linen kitchen towels, as the foundation for my work. I also love working with beads and sequins, because I like how the glowing little elements contrast with old fabrics and threads, and I frequently use them to frame and accentuate my pieces. The themes of my work often come from everyday life and relationships, with birds and flowers serving as additional sources of inspiration.
